The 2-Year Flagship MBA degree programme is a one of its kind MBA programme designed by experts in the education domain and industry stalwarts. The 2 year residential programme will enable holistic career development with strategic, analytical and future-focused leadership skills.
What are the specialisations offered in the MBA degree?
A total of 5 specialisations are offered to students in the second year.
Students can choose up to two specialisations in their Year 2.
How many students will be admitted in the programme for 2022-24?
The BITSoM MBA programme will admit up to 150 students in 2022.
Does the programme award an MBA degree?
Yes. All students who meet the credit requirements of the 2 year program will be awarded a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
Who are the faculty that will be teaching at BITSoM?
BITSoM has adopted the block teaching modular methodology and courses will be taken by faculty handpicked from leading business schools across the world. The faculty members will be available on campus as and when they are teaching their respective modules. During the course of the module, they will be entirely available inside as well as outside the classroom to ensure students make most out of their time spent with the faculty.
How accessible will the faculty be?
All faculty will be accessible outside of class hours. Faculty will announce their office hours at the start of the course. Students can slot appointments with the faculty/their Academic Associates. They will also be available on email and other electronic mediums post the course.
What is the programme fee?
For the 2 year MBA programme, the total cost is INR 24,50,000. The break up is as follows:

Is the admission fee a part of the overall course fee?
On receiving an offer from BITSoM all students will be expected to pay an admissions fee in order to reserve their spot in the class. This amount is a part of the overall course fee for the MBA programme.

I want to accept my offer; how much do I need to remit?
At the time of accepting your offer, you are expected to pay 1,40,000. The rest of the amount will be payable before the start of the programme. Relevant information will be communicated to you through emails from the admissions team.
How can I pay my admission fees?

I need an extension for paying the admission fees, who should I contact?

I am eligible to apply to BITSoM, but I cannot afford the full fee. Can I expect assistance from BITSoM?
Scholarships will be offered based on need. BITSoM is a need-aware institution.
When can I apply for an educational loan?
Once you have submitted the acceptance of your offer of admission, you can apply for an educational loan. BITSoM have tie up with State Bank of India and Axis Bank with exclusive interest rates and terms for BITSoM students.
Does BITSoM accept sponsored candidates from companies?
Yes, we welcome candidates sponsored by companies. These candidates will have to go through the same application process.
Does the fee cover Laptop?
No, students are expected to have a laptop with Office software
Is the Application Fee refundable?
No, the Application Fee is non-refundable.
Is the One-Time Admission fee refundable?
Yes, the One-Time Admission fee is refundable contingent to the institute’s refund policy.
What is the refund policy of BITSoM?

How do I get a refund?
To initiate a refund request, the student is required to intimate the same by writing an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Following that, the student will be given a fee refund form. The student must then send the duly filled form along with the enclosures requested by the institute to email@example.com . After the form is accepted, the institute will begin the refund process.
When will I get my refund?
All refund requests will be processed after receiving the essential documents requested by the institute.

What scholarships does BITSoM offer?
How do I apply for a Merit or Women’s Scholarship?
All candidates are eligible for these scholarships. No additional document or essay is required to be submitted. Your application will be automatically reviewed for Merit Scholarship and Women Scholarship.
How do I apply for the Merit cum Need Scholarship?
If you want to apply for a Merit Cum Need scholarship, you must answer “Yes” to the question "Are you looking for a need-based scholarship?" in the Personal Details section of the Application. Then you need to make a case for why you should be considered for the Merit cum Need scholarship in the scholarship essay field and upload your income certificate in the Upload Details section.
What percentage of scholarship is granted?
BITSoM has a generous scholarship fund. We provide from 15% to 100% tuition fee scholarship. Approximately 30% of the founding class has been awarded scholarship.

What should I do now that I haven't received a scholarship?

How do I know if I am eligible to apply to BITSoM’s Flagship 2-Year MBA Programme?
To be eligible to apply to BITSoM’s Flagship 2-Year MBA Programme, a student must have completed their undergraduate degree before the start date of the desired intake year. Students completing their undergraduate degree in the summer of 2022 are also eligible to apply.
Are standard tests mandatory to apply? Which ones are allowed?
Currently, BITSoM accepts CAT, GMAT and GRE scores. You can apply without any of these scores but will be expected to submit your preferred test score by 21st March 2022.
Is there a minimum GRE/GMAT/CAT score required to apply? Are there sectional cut-offs?
While a standardized test score is mandatory, there is no minimum score required by prospective students to go ahead with their applications. There are no sectional cut-offs either.
What is the BITSoM GMAT code?

Does BITSoM accept online GMAT scores?

What is the BITSoM GRE code?
Please note that the BITSoM code for the GRE is 2855. For more information on the GRE, please visit www.ets.org. Every applicant must request that the official score report is sent directly to BITSoM by the testing agency.
Does BITSoM give preference to any one of the standardised tests (CAT/GMAT/GRE) accepted in the application process?
There is no special preference given to one particular test. Each test is evaluated as per its own scoring profile. You will not be at a disadvantage for picking either of the three tests.
Can a student apply with CAT 2020 scores?
No, only CAT 2021 scores are valid for the 2022-24 batch.
Is GMAT/GRE score of 2016 valid?
GMAT/GRE scores are valid for 5 years. Your GMAT/GRE score should be valid at the time of taking the admission.
Can I submit my scores separately after I submit the application form?
Yes, you can apply without any of these scores, but you will be expected to submit your preferred official test score by March 21, 2022. Your application will be considered complete after your scores have been received by us. You will be expected to scan your test scores and send us an electronic copy.

What are the steps in the application process?
BITSoM has a 2-step application process. It begins with submitting an online application form (link) followed by a personal interview.
Do I need to complete the whole application in one go?
No, the online application portal allows you to save sections of your application so you can complete it in parts. We recommend you check the application deadline dates and plan accordingly.
Is it important to mention extra-curricular activities in the application?
BITSoM values robustness in its candidates, thus It is highly recommended to mention extra-curricular activities (if any). However, it is not mandatory and will not affect the validity or the completeness of your application.
I have worked in my family business for the past year, does that count as work experience?
Yes, any work experience is welcome. Please ensure that your referees (can be investors, clients, other customers etc - but not family members) can validate your work/time in the family business.
Do part-time work and internships count as work experience?
No, they do not. Only full time engagements are considered as work experience. Part time work and internships can be mentioned under extra-curricular activities or projects.
When is the right time to apply to BITSoM?
Each round of admissions gives prospective applicants an equal opportunity to get into BITSoM. However, since the admissions are given on a rolling basis, it is highly recommended that you apply in the earlier rounds.
Do I need to send hard copies of my transcripts, marksheets, or other documents that are required as a part of the application?
No, that is not required. All documents are to be uploaded on the application portal online.
When will my documents be verified?
Once you submit your application and required documents have been received, your application will move to the verification stage.
I couldn’t make it in the first round, can I apply in the next round?
No. Students can only apply once in an admissions cycle. However, it is possible to apply again for the next academic year.
If I make it to the interview round, how will I find out?
You will hear from BITSoM’s admissions team via email about further steps in your application process.
How will the interviews be conducted?
Interviews will be conducted either in person or virtually. In case an in person interview is scheduled, the location, time and other logistics will be communicated to you as well. Interviews will be conducted in one of the following cities - Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata or Hyderabad.
Do you have any quotas?
No. There will be no form of reservation for admissions at BITSoM.
Are Indian and foreign applicants evaluated under the same parameters?
Yes, they are.
How do I add/change information if I have already submitted my application?
Once you submit your application, information cannot be changed. However, in special circumstances where information changed after the form was submitted (funding details etc), students need to write to the admissions team stating the reason and the change. You will be guided for further steps.
I have received my offer, what next?
Once you have received your offer, you have the option to either accept or reject the offer. The next steps will be outlined in the email you received. How does the referral process work?
We mandatorily require one reference as part of the BITSoM MBA application process. In your BITSoM MBA Application form, you will have to input your referee's designation, relation with you, and contact information. Do kindly get consent from your referee before adding their details! Following payment and submission of the BITSoM MBA application, an email with link to the recommendation form will be sent straight to your referee from BITSoM. We prefer referees' official organisational email addresses to be included in the application form. Who should I choose as my referee?
If you are a student, choose a faculty member from your college with whom you have taken classes or worked on projects. If you have prior work experience, select a past or current immediate supervisor. More than the designation, we are interested in the work you have done with or under the supervision of your referee.
Can I choose my friend, colleague, or family member to be my referee?
We recommend that you choose someone who knows you in a supervisory capacity and has a working relationship with you. If you are in a family business, we advise getting referral from stakeholders other than your family members such as business partners, vendors, clients, suppliers, and so on.
What if I'm not currently working or if I don't want my current employer to know that I'm leaving for an MBA?
Choose a faculty member from your college if you are a recent graduate. Choose a previous immediate supervisor if you have held various job profiles.
What is asked on the recommendation form?
Your referee will be asked to rate you on a sliding scale for managerial abilities and aptitude, as well as to answer two brief open-ended questions about your work and strengths. Ideally, the form should be submitted by your referee by the application deadline or as early as possible after the deadline.
Is it ok if my referee submits the recommendation form after the application deadline?
Yes, we accept recommendation forms even after the deadline. It is appreciated if the LOR is submitted within 7 days of receipt of the email to fasten the evaluation process. Do reach out to us at email@example.com in case of any issues.
What should I do if my referee didn't receive the email from BITSoM?

Where is BITSoM located?

Does BITSoM provide accommodation for outstation students?
Yes. Students will reside in shared, fully furnished apartments close to the campus. Each apartment will be provisioned with a functional kitchenette.
Is it mandatory for all students to stay at the student residences?
Yes, the BITSoM MBA is a two year fully residential programme. All students are required to stay at the student residences.
I am married. Can my spouse live with me in the student accommodation?
No, hostel accommodation is only for students
Can I see the accommodation before taking admission?
Yes. We can arrange for a visit to the residential complex, with prior notice, and at an appropriate time before the start of the session.
How far is the campus from the residences?
The Campus is within 7 KMs from the residences. It will take approximately 20 - 30 minutes to travel by the shuttle, subject to traffic conditions.
What facilities are provided at BITSoM residences?
All students will have access to the following facilities:
- Within the apartments: Wi-Fi, Fridge, Television, Washing Machine, Induction Plate, Bed Linen, and a fully equipped kitchen.
- Services: Laundry, Doctor on call, 24X7 Security, paid laundry service. A limited parking facility will also be available
- Recreation: pool table, tennis tables etc.
What facilities are provided on the campus?
Apart from access to the classrooms and the library; all faculty, staff and students will have access to dining facilities, cafe, activity centre, digital lab and other such facilities. The campus will also have a first aid and a wellness center.
How will I travel from the campus and residence, or vice versa? Will it be charged?
There will be a shuttle service at fixed timings provided 7 days a week. There is no charge for students to use the service.
Are self catered residences an option?
The student residences will have dining facilities but all apartments will also have kitchenettes, which will enable students to self-cater. However, owing to the rigour of the program, it is recommended that students avail the BITSoM residence/campus dining facilities on a daily basis.
Will the institution get a health insurance with COVID cover for me?
It is mandatory for students who join the program to have a health insurance cover with a COVID cover. You need to share a copy of your insurance policy at the time of taking the admission. In case you do not have one, you can get an insuarance policy from BITSoM’s insurance provider at extra cost.
How safe will the campus, hostel and travel be, considering the COVID situation?
All government guidelines with regards to safety of students will be followed at the campus, hostel and travel.
Does BITSoM offer campus placements?
Yes, BITSoM offers campus placements.
When will the Placements start?
Placements will start in November/December every year, for final year students. While a few companies may start coming in from October onwards, the placements will continue till the end of March.

What is the cost of re-evaluation test?
A fee of Rupees Five Hundred only will be charged for re-evaluation. If the student requests for a re-evaluation, the entire submission will be open for re grading, which may lead to an increase or decrease in scores. If the re-evaluation is considered inapt the amount/re-evaluation fee will NOT be refunded, and if the scores change (increase) the fee will be refunded.
If my transcript is not in English, is a translated copy required?
Yes, all required documents must be presented in English. If the original copies are in a regional language, they must be translated and verified by the respective organisation.
BITSoM complies with all COVID related guidelines and protocols as specified by the government to ensure the highest standards of health and safety for its students, faculty, and staff. Current government regulations do not allow for physical in-person classes in Mumbai and therefore all classes are being held online. Our interim campus in Mumbai is fully ready and functional. As soon as physical in-person classes are permitted, we will commence these at our campus.
While completely adhering to government regulations, we also do not want to compromise on peer learning. Therefore, BITSoM student residences in Mumbai have been made operational, and our students have been given the option of staying at the facility. All students who wish to stay at the student residences must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and adhere to the COVID guidelines as issued by the government.
