What is the Flagship MBA degree programme?
The 2-Year Flagship MBA degree programme is a one of its kind MBA programme designed by experts in the education domain and industry stalwarts. The 2 year residential programme will enable holistic career development with strategic, analytical and future-focused leadership skills.
What are the specializations offered in the MBA degree?
A total of 5 specializations are offered to students in the second year.
Students can choose up to two specializations in their Year 2.
How many students will be admitted in the programme for 2021-23?
The founding class of the BITSoM MBA programme will admit up to 120 students in 2021.
Does the program award an MBA degree?
Yes. All students who meet the credit requirements of the 2 year program will be awarded a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
Who are the faculty that will be teaching at BITSoM?
BITSoM has adopted the block teaching modular methodology and courses will be taken by faculty handpicked from leading business schools across the world. The faculty members will be available on campus as and when they are teaching their respective modules. During the course of the module, they will be entirely available inside as well as outside the classroom to ensure students make most out of their time spent with the faculty.
How accessible will the faculty be?
All faculty will be accessible outside of class hours. Faculty will announce their office hours at the start of the course. Students can slot appointments with the faculty/their Academic Associates. They will also be available on email and other electronic mediums post the course.
What is the programme fee?
For the 2 year MBA program, the total cost is INR 24,50,000. The break up is as follows:

Is the admission fee a part of the overall course fee?
On receiving an offer from BITSoM all students will be expected to pay an admissions fee in order to reserve their spot in the class. This amount is a part of the overall course fee for the MBA programme.
I have received an offer; by when do I need to revert?

I want to accept my offer; how much do I need to remit?
At the time of accepting your offer, you are expected to pay 1,40,000. The rest of the amount will be payable before the start of the program. Relevant information will be communicated to you through emails from the admissions team.
How can I pay my admission fees?
Bank transfer - NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, Cheque, Credit Card payment.
I need an extension for paying the admission fees, who should I contact?
While this will be mentioned in your offer letter, under special circumstances please connect with the admissions team for further assistance.
I am eligible to apply to BITSoM, but I cannot afford the full fee. Can I expect assistance from BITSoM?
Scholarships will be offered based on need. BITSoM is a need-aware institution.
How can I apply for Scholarship?
You will need to write an additional essay describing why you should be considered for scholarship. Additionally, you will also need to provide proof of family income. This will be a part of the application form and no other form is required.
When can I apply for an educational loan?
Once you have submitted the acceptance of your offer of admission, you can apply for an educational loan. BITSoM have tie up with State Bank of India and Axis Bank with exclusive interest rates and terms for BITSoM students.
Does BITSOM accept sponsored candidates from companies?
Yes, we welcome candidates sponsored by companies. These candidates will have to go through the same application process.
Does the fee cover Laptop?
No, students are expected to have a laptop with Office software
How do I know if I am eligible to apply to BITSoM’s Flagship 2-Year MBA Program?
To be eligible to apply to BITSoM’s Flagship 2-Year MBA Program, a student must have completed their undergraduate degree before the start date of the desired intake year. Students completing their undergraduate degree in the summer of 2021 are also eligible.
Are standard tests mandatory to apply? Which ones are allowed?
Currently, BITSOM accepts CAT, GMAT and GRE scores. You can apply without any of these scores but will be expected to submit your preferred test score by May 2nd, 2021.
Is there a minimum GRE/GMAT/CAT score required to apply? Are there sectional cut-offs?
While a standardized test score is mandatory, there is no minimum score required by prospective students to go ahead with their applications. There are no sectional cut-offs either.
What is the BITSoM GMAT code?
Please note that the BITSoM code for the GMAT is C55-CN-14. For more information on the GMAT, please visit www.gmac.com. Every applicant must request that the official score report is sent directly to BITSoM by the testing agency.
Does BITSoM accept online GMAT scores?
Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are aware that it has been difficult for students to go to testing centres for standardised tests. BITSoM will accept scores from the Online GMAT test for 2021 intake. BITSoM's GMAT Program code to receive your scores is C55-CN-14. More information about the online GMAT can be found on gmac.com
What is the BITSoM GRE code?
Please note that the BITSoM code for the GRE is 2855. For more information on the GRE, please visit www.ets.org. Every applicant must request that the official score report is sent directly to BITSoM by the testing agency.
Does BITSoM give preference to any one of the standardised tests (CAT/GMAT/GRE) accepted in the application process?
There is no special preference given to one particular test. Each test is evaluated as per its own scoring profile. You will not be at a disadvantage for picking either of the three tests.
Can a student apply with CAT 2019 scores?
No, only CAT 2020 scores are valid for the 2021-23 batch.
Is GMAT/GRE score of 2015 valid?
GMAT/GRE scores are valid for 5 years. Your GMAT/GRE score should be valid at the time of taking the admission.
Can I submit my scores separately after I submit the application form?
Yes, you can apply without any of these scores, but you will be expected to submit your preferred test score by May 2nd, 2021. Your application will be considered complete after your scores have been received by us. You will be expected to scan your test scores and send us an electronic copy.

What are the steps in the application process?
BITSOM has a 2-step application process. It begins with submitting an online application form (link) followed by a personal interview.
Do I need to complete the whole application in one go?
No, the online application portal allows you to save sections of your application so you can complete it in parts. We recommend you check the application deadline dates and plan accordingly.
Is it important to mention extra-curricular activities in the application?
BITSoM values robustness in its candidates, thus It is highly recommended to mention extra-curricular activities (if any). However, it is not mandatory and will not affect the validity or the completeness of your application.
I have worked in my family business for the past year, does that count as work experience?
Yes, any work experience is welcome. Please ensure that your referees (can be investors, clients, other customers etc - but not family members) can validate your work/time in the family business.
Do part-time work and internships count as work experience?
No, they do not. Only full time engagements are considered as work experience. Part time work and internships can be mentioned under extra-curricular activities or projects.
When is the right time to apply to BITSOM?
Each round of admissions gives prospective applicants an equal opportunity to get into BITSOM. However, since the admissions are given on a rolling basis, it is highly recommended that you apply in the earlier rounds.
Do I need to send hard copies of my transcripts, marksheets, or other documents that are required as a part of the application?
No, that is not required. All documents are to be uploaded on the application portal online.
How will my recommenders fill their form?
Your recommenders will be notified on their email ID, provided by you, and will receive a link to an online form.
When will my documents be verified?
Once you submit your application and required documents have been received, your application will move to the verification stage.
I couldn’t make it in the first round, can I apply in the next round?
No. Students can only apply once in an admissions cycle. However, it is possible to apply again for the next academic year.
If I make it to the interview round, how will I find out?
You will hear from BITSoM’s admissions team via email about further steps in your application process.
How will the interviews be conducted?
Interviews will be conducted either in person or virtually. In case an in person interview is scheduled, the location, time and other logistics will be communicated to you as well. Interviews will be conducted in one of the following cities - Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata or Hyderabad.
Do you have any quotas?
No. There will be no form of reservation for admissions at BITSOM.
Are Indian and foreign applicants evaluated under the same parameters?
Yes, they are.
How do I add/change information if I have already submitted my application?
Once you submit your application, information cannot be changed. However, in special circumstances where information changed after the form was submitted (funding details etc), students need to write to the admissions team stating the reason and the change. You will be guided for further steps.
I have received my offer, what next?

Where is BITSoM located?

Does BITSoM provide accommodation for outstation students?
Yes. Each student will have a single room in one of the forty 3BHK apartments for year 1 with at least two washrooms in each flat. Students will also have access to one kitchenette per flat.
Is it mandatory for all students to live on campus?
Yes, the BITSoM MBA is a two year fully residential programme. All students are required to live on campus.
I am married. Can my spouse live with me in the student accommodation?
No, hostel accommodation is only for students
Can I see the accommodation before taking admission?
Yes. Visit can be made to the residential complex wherein housing is planned, with prior notice, at appropriate time before start of session.
How far is the campus from the residences?
4-5 KM away. Will take approximately 15-20 minutes to cover by the shuttle, subject to traffic conditions.
What facilities are provided at BITSoM residences?
All students will have access to recreational areas in the residence which will include facilities for high speed Wi-Fi, Gym (Sports facilities in due course), Fridge, dining, TV room, Washing Machine, Induction Plate, Bed Linen, Window Curtains, Laundry, Doctor on call, 24X7 Security, pool table, tennis tables etc. Additionally, you will have access to laundry, printing and photocopying services (paid services). A limited parking facility will also be available.
What facilities are provided on the campus?
Apart from access to the classrooms and the library; all faculty, staff and students will have access to dining facilities, cafe, activity centre, digital lab and other such facilities. The campus will also have a first aid and a wellness center.
How will I travel from the campus and residence, or vice versa? Will it be charged?
There will be a shuttle service at fixed timings provided 7 days a week. This is a complimentary service for students.
Are self catered residences an option?
The student residences will have dining facilities but all apartments will also have kitchenettes, which will enable students to self-cater. However, owing to the rigor of the program, it is recommended that students avail the BITSoM residence/campus dining facilities on a daily basis. .
Will the institution get a health insurance with COVID cover for me?
It is mandatory for students who join the program to have a health insurance cover with a COVID cover. You need to share a copy of your insurance policy at the time of taking the admission. In case you do not have one, you can get an insuarance policy from BITSoM’s insurance provider at extra cost.
How safe will the campus, hostel and travel be, considering the COVID situation?
All government guidelines with regards to safety of students will be followed at the campus, hostel and travel.
Does BITSoM offer campus placements?
Yes, BITSoM offers campus placements.
When will the Placements start?
Placements will start in November/December every year, for final year students. While a few companies may start coming in from October onwards, the placements will continue till the end of March.

What is the cost of re-evaluation test?
Decision for a re-evaluation is between the student and faculty. No charges involved.
If my transcript is not in English, is a translated copy required?
Yes, all required documents must be presented in English. If the original copies are in a regional language, they must be translated and verified by the respective organisation.
