THE 'CHAPTER ONE' PEOPLE
June 03rd, 2026
Nobody really prepares you for what a full-time MBA feels like when you walk in with years of work and life already behind you.
There’s a quiet kind of ego check that happens when you watch someone move faster, retain more, adapt quicker. It’s humbling. The curriculum feels unfamiliar. The pace feels unforgiving. And somewhere between the case studies and the deadlines, you realize you’ve lost the muscle memory of being a student.
But here’s what nobody tells you about the plot twist:
You’ve already lived through the chaos that others are studying. You’ve managed people, missed deadlines, recovered from failures, navigated office politics, and made real decisions with real consequences. The classroom is familiar territory, just wearing a different costume. You don’t spiral the same way. You prioritize differently. You bring a kind of quiet clarity to situations that used to break you.
And then something unexpected happens. You start learning from the very people you assumed you’d be ahead of. The ones for whom this is Chapter One. Full of curiosity, fearlessness, and an energy that somehow resurrects something in you that you didn’t know had gone quiet.
My inner child has genuinely come alive in this B-school and most of it is because of the Chapter One people I’ve had the privilege of connecting with.
The knowledge flows both ways. Always.
We’re not competing across experience levels. We’re complementing each other. And that, I think, is the most underrated part of an MBA no brochure will ever highlight.
To everyone doing this journey a little later, a little wiser, a little more weathered, you’re not behind.
You’re just bringing a different kind of fire.
