Internships are often a pivotal part of a student’s journey, where they transition from theoretical knowledge to real-world application. My internship at Aditya Birla Group’s flagship company, Hindalco, in the Business Finance Department, was not just an experience but a transformational journey filled with learning, growth, and valuable contributions.
Ten months ago, I received admission to BITSoM and started connecting with my batchmates through common groups. Immediately, I was struck by imposter syndrome. I was amazed at how intelligent all of them were. Every day, there would be messages in the groups asking if anyone wanted to form a team to participate in case competitions. It was an absolute delight to host Dr Nirmalya Kumar, for a friendly Fireside Chat with our Dean, Dr Ranjan Banerjee. Dr Kumar is a Professor of Marketing at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business at Singapore Management University and a distinguished fellow at the INSEAD Emerging Markets Institute. He teaches Advanced Marketing Strategy at BITSoM.
COVID changed all our lives in one way or the other. And for me it led me down the path of MBA.
At the outset it is the road often taken. But hear me out. I am a chemical engineering graduate who decided to pursue journalism right after college.
