DIGITAL EXCELLENCE SUMMIT: INNOVATE AND LEAD
Brought together by a shared commitment to pioneering cutting-edge research and innovation, the Digital Excellence Summit is a joint endeavour of the BITS School of Management and the University of Southern California to create a knowledge platform for engaging industry leaders, academics and students.
Across a keynote session and two panels, the conference will involve discussions on the future of organizations fuelled by digital transformation and the opportunities and challenges that lie therein. Our speaker lineup, comprising senior leaders from a range of industries and faculty from USC and BITSoM, will share their experiences in leading legacy as well as digital native organizations and the road ahead for development and growth in an increasingly digitized world.
ABOUT THE THEME: DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
Digital transformation continues to serve as a cornerstone of modern society because of the opportunities it presents for implementing effective and efficient solutions to challenges. The sheer pervasiveness of the digital revolution in everyday life makes it a highly intriguing, pertinent and dynamic space for discussion and thought. For organizations, digital transformation is not a question of why but a question of what more can be done to improve the triple bottom line and how well we can do it. Whether it is a legacy organization or a digital native, staying competitive in an increasingly tech-driven world requires understanding the digital as well as human aspects of organizations, and finding synergies to fuel success.
While digital transformation may present a bevvy of opportunities, it is not without its challenges. On the one hand, digital transformation may drive innovation, streamline processes, and increase efficiency. On the other hand, the transformative value of this agent of change may be undermined by challenges, such as keeping pace with the dynamic nature of this space and the corresponding ethical and societal implications, the need for better legislation, and the security of information.
The conference will bring together industry leaders and researchers with a wide range of expertise, including marketing, supply chain and operations, artificial intelligence, behavioural research, finance and information technology. The first panel will comprise inputs from panellists on the good, the bad, and the ugly of digital transformation. This will be followed by a second panel on how digital natives and legacy organizations can learn from each other as they navigate dynamic changes in the internal and external environment of business operations.
